What is the name of the book and when was it published?
It Ain’t Rocket Science: A Common-Sense Guide to Making IT Projects Work. June 2016
What’s the book’s first line?
Because “duh!” isn’t a section on your weekly project template.
What’s the book about? Give us the “pitch”.
It basically comes down to talking about the elephant in the room of almost every major company in the world; the real reasons Fortune 500 Information Technology (IT) isn’t usually successful and how easy it is to fix it. It’s written in a very humorous way that makes it accessible to anyone to understand. You don’t have to be “technical” to get it.
What inspired you to write the book? A particular person? An event?
As a very well compensated IT consultant, I would see the same issues over and over again with my clients and they were all easily preventable; so I decided to show people how easy it could be in the Fortune 500 to do IT right.
What’s the main reason someone should really read this book?
If you’ve always wanted to really know what your $250 an hour consulting company was thinking (and talking about) behind the scenes this is the book. It will give you the skills to really look at the bottom line and realize how to fix the issues that seem to stymie your company again and again.
