How Does IndieReader Work?

LIST BOOK
  • Agree to Terms
  • Send your book to IndieReader, PO Box 43121, Upper Montclair, NJ 07043 for vetting.
  • All genres of books will be considered, with the exception of pornography.
  • Pay annual fee of $149. You pay online via PayPal. The yearly fee is the same no matter how many books you list with us; however a $25 submission fee will be assessed for every book after the first.
  • If your book passes the vetting process and is accepted onto the IR site, we will notify you about next steps, including instructions on how you will provide a high-res image of your book and set up your Web page.
VETTING
  • All books submitted to IndieReader will be reviewed for content, spelling, grammar and punctuation, style, readability and originality.
  • Reviewers for IndieReader include editors, literary agents, publicists and just plain book lovers.
  • The vetting process is for internal use only; accepting money from an author for a review would be a conflict of interest, as we will potentially be receiving a percentage of sales from those books accepted onto the IndieReader site.
  • If your book is not accepted, we will refund you all but $25 (our submission fee). Your book will not be returned unless you supply a self-addressed stamped envelope.
SELL BOOK
  • When your book is purchased, we will notify you via email.
  • Your buyer will pay IR via PayPal; shipping costs will be assessed in addition to the retail price of the book, and are set at a flat rate $4.95 per book.
  • You are responsible for arranging shipping in a timely manner (approximately two weeks following your receipt of the order) either from your own inventory or via your POD publisher or distributor.
GET PAID
  • IndieReader will take 25% of the retail sale price of your book (this percentage does not include the shipping fee, which will be paid by the buyer at the time of the sale).
  • IndieReader will send you 75% of your total sales on a monthly basis.
HOW ARE BOOKS/AUTHORS CHOSEN FOR THE "FEATURED" SECTION?
  • Featured Authors/Books will be chosen by IndieReader staff on a TBD timetable (probably weekly), usually by choosing a timely theme. A book needs to be available on the IndieReader site in order to be chosen but sometimes authors will be featured whose work is not available through the IndieReader site.
  • You cannot pay to have your book featured; it is totally up to the discretion of the IndieReader staff.
